Catherine Elizabeth Donley Babcock was born in Mt. Vernon, Ohio on Dec 5th, 1930. She was the middle of three daughters and is survived by her sister Shirlene McLean who lives in Mansfield, OH. The couple moved back to S FL in May, 2016, and resided at 320 NE 23rd Way, Boca Raton, FL 33431.
She is survived by: her husband of 52 years, Frank Babcock, who was born in West Palm Beach, FL in 1935; her daughter Cathie who is married to Edmund Kary and resides in Boca Raton, FL; her two grandchildren, Kate (age 24) and Connor (age 20) McVay, who live in Deerfield Beach, FL.
Catherine loved gardening, cooking, music, photography, traveling, and spending time with her daughter and grandchildren. After her husband Frank retired from the Harris Corporation, they moved to Hendersonville, NC where they lived for 12 years and developed many great friendships with their neighbors and others who lived in the area. She loved to volunteer at the Brevard Music Center and the Flatrock Playhouse. When she and her husband traveled the world, she loved meeting and interacting with the local folks and enjoying the cuisine. She also loved to travel with her daughter Cathie on either her flight attendant trips with Delta Airlines or if the two just wanted to take a mother / daughter journey. Her love of the outdoors and photography, while living in North Carolina, allowed her to always enjoy birdwatching which became a lifelong passion of hers. She and Frank took numerous trips up and down the Blueridge Parkway enjoying and discovering new sights.
